Data Warehouse Manager – South Africa

Join a team of dynamic experts within a consultancy known for leading a world class data analytics/warehouse capability and specialising in AI and applications. They are seeking a data warehouse manager who will be responsible for enabling future needs for advanced analytics and AI. You will also develop, test, deploy, maintain and support new databases, reporting, data warehouse and business intelligence applications from high-level business requirements and designs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement and document business intelligence solutions
• Contribute to the overall data warehouse architecture and data base designs
• Maintain and oversee the administration and maintenance of the data warehouse
• Develop and maintain business intelligence and reporting technologies and processes
• Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications for business intelligence (BI) reports and applications
• Design and develop reports and dashboards based on business requirements document (BRD) and customer specifications
• Develop feasible technical specifications and process flows for data provision
• Within user specifications extract, transform and load (ELT) data using the relevant tools
• Verify and quality assure of data provided
• Translate business requirements into workable solutions and document solutions into technical specifications

Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant IT and data analytics qualifications e.g. BTech or BSc (informatics) – Essential
• Dimensional modelling and/or relevant Microsoft certification – Advantageous
• 3 – 5 years of management experience taking care of teams between 5 – 8 people
• Training/qualifications, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Power BI, Advanced MS Excel, Star quest, Python, Scala Spark, AWS Sagemaker
• Experience on AWS /Azure SQL elastic instance, Data factory, Power BI
• Solid understanding of Metadata constructs
• Clear understanding of EDW
• Must be familiar with the concept of Data Marts
• Proven data modelling techniques (three years)
• Experience in Ralph Kimball data warehouse modelling (three years)
• Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, Visual Studio

The reference number for this position is NG59249 which is a permanent hybrid position based in Centurion, offering a salary of R900,000 to R1.1m cost to company per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
