Master Data Specialist – South Africa

Job description

A full-service retail and brand execution business seeks a master data specialist to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data across various systems and platforms as well as functions and divisions.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Digital Acumen, Technology Management awareness of and understanding how to leverage technological innovations
• Financial Management, the ability to understand the financial effects of certain choices and actions and make informed decisions to maximise profits and decrease loss.
• Understand both internal and external customers, maintain professional business associations
• Maintaining a current knowledge of issues within the industry that can impact on the organisation.
• Tendency to accurately check processes and tasks and maintain watchfulness over a period of time.
• Ability to influence outside forces and does not attribute their successes or failures to luck or to the power of others.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional business associations at all levels including seniors, juniors, peers, colleagues’ customers, clients, service partners, government and community stakeholders
• Maintaining a current knowledge of issues within the industry that can impact on the organisation.
• Ability to add value to the organisation through unique technical expertise
• Ability to secure relevant information and relate and compare data from different sources and identify cause-effect relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5-10 years’ experience working with systems, with specific experience in systems data quality control and maintenance (e.g. Product lists etc).
• MS Excel to Advanced Level
• Experience with ERP or operational systems
• Experience in work with cleaning and validating large sets of data
• Understanding of data governance and quality principles
• Solid understanding of fundamental data concepts

The Reference Number for this position is NG59243 which is a Permanent In-office position based in Pretoria offering a salary of R550k – R660k Per Annum negotiable on experience and ability.
